Tereshkova's Prodigy P2 trailer brake controller is a premium brake controller that's going to be proportional so that way the momentum of your vehicle as it comes to a stop will affect how hard the brakes are applied on your trailer at the back. This is going to give you the smoothest braking operation in comparison to other ones out there such as the time-delayed models. Today in your 2014 Volkswagen Touareg, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install Tekonsha's Voyager Brake Controller.The Voyager is going to be a great entry-level brake controller. It's a proportional brake controller, which is going to feel better than your time-delay brake controllers that are available out there. What proportional means is that it has an inertia sensor inside, so it detects the momentum of the vehicle as it's stopping, and it uses that momentum that it's detecting coming to a stop to determine the output signal to your trailer brakes to appropriate apply those so that way it matches the braking force of your vehicle.Our brake controller has two knobs on it. The right knob is our gain adjustment, which will allow us to adjust the sensitivity of the output to our trailer, and the knob on the left side is for adjusting the level. Speaker 1: Today in our 2016 Volkswagen Toureg, we'll be having a look at and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller, part number 90885.What sets this brake controller apart from other controllers on the market is we've got this nice, easy to read display, here, but yet we still have features that other, cheaper models don't have without spending a lot of money in order to get those. The ability to run electric over hydraulic brakes is a great benefit that a lot of brake controllers can't do.Another thing I really liked about this controller is the fact that it's proportional. We don't have to worry about messing with the controller while we're driving. If we just need a little bit of braking assistance, it'll give us a little bit of braking assistance. If we have a panic stop, it'll give us more braking power to our trailer brakes so we don't have to worry about our trailer passing us if we're in a panic stop situation.We've already plugged in to our trailer, so you see the C right here means we're connected and we have a good connection between our trailer and our vehicle. If it we're to become disconnected, it would start flashing NC, for "No connection." You'll also see that every time you start your vehicle with no trailer connected to it, to let you know that you're not hooked up.Now, down here on the bottom of the brake controller, we have our manual override switch. more

Trailer Brake Controller Installation - 2010 Volkswagen Routan- Video
Today on our 2010 Volkswagen Routan, we'll be taking a look at and installing the Tekonsha Prodigy II Trailer Brake Controller System, part number 90885, with assistance of part number ETBC7, a brake controller wiring system. Our first step in installing our trailer brake system is going to be to place our mounting bracket on the backside for our 7-way connector. We're going to be using a universal no-drill bracket on the backside, which is going to be part number 18136, and it's going to look about like so. We'll take and we'll place it, depending on your vehicle, this is all going to depend on where you're going to mount it. You can't very well mount it on top because we won't have enough space with the backside of the fascia and bumper. We're going to mount it on the bottom side just like so. Once you have the strapping around, we'll go ahead and place it through the front, and now, we'll start threading it down. Now, we'll go ahead and place our 7-pole connector bracket on the backside. more
